Apache Moon
Apache Moon is a McKenzie Valley Timber Wolf. He came to us at the age of 7 weeks in very bad condition. He is 19 years old, strong in stature, proud in stance, and weighs 110 lbs. He is calm, well centered, and easy going. He has appeared in such movies as "Wolf Ridge" and "Deadly Cold". His trustworthiness and love for children has earned him a place in our Educational Programs. He is the only wolf we allow children to visit with because of his gentle nature. Apache Moon is the honorary WMS pack "Father". He has raised most of the wolves; Dakota, Segoni, Durango, Sedona, Apache, Wakinyan, Shanta Wanagi, Wana Chikal , Niwah and now Istas. We have let the new pups spend time with Apache but he made it clear that he was too old to teach them. Apache Moon is getting old and it is starting to show. Apache has retired now and Tonya is giving him special herbs to help with his old age. We treasure each day that we have with Apache, as we know that soon he will go to the Sky People. Apache has the run of the compound as he is an elder. He spends his days sleeping on the nice grass that was grown for him.
